Fun in Shanghai Kids Museum (上海儿童博物馆)

First we still choosing betwixt and between the outdoor and indoor for today's place of interest. Finally we decided the indoor place looking at the unpredictable weather. This round we opted for the Kids Museum and hope that Ethan will have fun.

We had to pay RMB20 per person including Ethan. This round Ethan was not free and he need to pay at the full price. Daddy said that this museum was mainly for the kids from 2 to 12 years old, surely they will charge kids at the full price. Daddy still comment that they should charge adult cheaper rate since adults are not kids.

Our first place was the "Nautical Hall". The theme of this hall was regarding the sea. Display of different type of ships and boats. There was a model of a submarine in the hall. Ethan loved to enter and play the button and so on....

Photo showing him having fun inside the submarine. He even walked out and reentered few times. Very difficult for us to lure him out from this area.

The second place was the "Space Hall". He did not really know about this and he just walked here and there. The Space Hall compared with the Science and Technology Museum seems like very small.

The Third place was the "Moon Hall". Well, inside was dark and the flooring is made to look and feel like ground on the moon. There was a big screen showing Questions and giving the choices by touching the big screen to choose the correct answer. Well, Ethan seeing the big kids touched the screen and he just followed the same action.

The Fourth place was the "Information Hall". It displayed the history of the telephone from first telephone to current phone. What attracted Ethan was the light on the floor showing the signal transferring from one place to other. He tried the chase and step on the light. So funny looking at him doing this.

Playing the telegraph machine

The Movie camera

We were stuck in this area for quite some time because Ethan loved to play this data terminal. At first he didn't know how to do but after we demonstrated to him, he immediately operated by himself. The things to play is that you can choose the photo and sending them out. At the big scene on the wall will be showing what those things you transferred out.

Choosing the photo to send out

Drawing the picture using the finger

Screen showing the keyboard and Ethan was typing the number and sending out

After that we headed towards the "Interactive Exploration Area". Different toys can be played.

Ethan using the spoon to hit the pot making sound

Ethan played with the xylophone

Putting the hand on the board and inside the tree house

Playing with the magnet

With the cow

The reading area with lot of books. We didn't wait for the story time at 2.00pm

Playing with some Q&A terminal

Ethan took the photo with the icon before we left

Conclusion was Ethan had more fun than his parents. We didn't manage to visit the Mausoleum of Soong Ching Ling beside this museum due to heavy rain. Our plan to shoot two birds with one stone didn't work out...
