Deep attachment to his Blanket

Always heard people said that one need to prepare two identical blankets for your kid. When Ethan was a few months old, daddy bought a yellow blanket from US and he loves it since. But we didn't buy two. He developed an attachment to it. He will carry his blanket with him whenever he goes to sleep or visit the new places but only happen when he is in bed. Not inside the car. Found out that Ethan can sleep in the car in sitting position when it comes to the time for his nap time or good night sleep.

Last year mummy requested daddy to buy another one but this time is blue color instead of yellow. Daddy could not manage to find any yellow color ones. Mummy wants to wash his old blanket as our little son likes to eat and bite the corner of the blanket. A lot of saliva on the blanket. Previous wash was very fast, just put into washing machine when he was awake but it was not so clean. Now mummy had to soak the blanket for some time with soap and hand wash before throwing inside the washing machine.
Before we attempted to wash this blanket, we tried to give him the new blanket. He just threw it aside and held on to his old blanket. That time we didn't really dare to make any move so just DELAY DELAY till today mummy cannot stand it anymore. So mummy just took away when he was sleeping. He woke up and found his blanket missing. He keep saying "blanket, blanket". No choice! So mummy gave him the new one, luckily he accepted it. Don't know whether may be because his was too tired and fall asleep or no choice but to accept it?

Night time we find that he is still finding his old blanket by saying blanket and making hand sign of "NO" then we just said see this one is your blanket then he just accepted it. Conclusion is that he does not really fall in deep attachment to the blanket.

Seeing Ethan happily with his new blanket

What surprised us was he knew how to read a loud the brand name of the blanket i.e. "CIRCO". We haven't teach it to him before and this was a new word for him. Mummy told daddy that maybe Ethan already developed the natural phonics. As he will try to speak out the word when he sees it even some of them maybe not be correct but the sound was so close.
