Family visits

Today we went back to Kedah - grandpa's house. There, Ethan met a lot of mummy's relatives.
太婆, 姑婆 and 雯姐姐 knew that Ethan was back in Kedah so they want to meet him. Unfortunately when they arrived, Ethan had already taking his afternoon nap. So they have to come back later. 雯姐姐 accidentally left her kid sunglasses so when Ethan woke up from his nap he took it and wore. We felt so funny seeing Ethan wearing the glasses when we were back from the barber shop. Mummy had gone for a haircut while Ethan was taking his nap.

Since we were rushing to go back to Penang, we actually didn't have much time for Ethan to play with 雯姐姐. Both kids were also very shy to each other. This might be because they actually have not met each other for long time. Last time when they met I guessed Ethan was not yet 1 year old. But before leaving we took some photos of them together with Great Grandma.

Only can be controlled by mummy????

Well, there was not really enough time to bring Ethan to the park today. In the morning, we only managed to go to Tesco to buy Ethan's painting stuff and then dropped by the bank. Ethan was throwing a tantrum in Tesco when daddy took him away from the children bicycle section. Ethan tried to get on the bicycles and would not budged. Daddy had to carried him crying on his arm and tried to find mummy. When mummy took him over, he quickly became a nice boy. He really know how to "bully" particular people. He knows his style cannot work on his mother.

After taking a nap and ate, we brought Ethan to the garden. Well, today there was no squirrels to be seen. Ethan was so busy helping mother to clip the clothes . See the little helper.

Sweep! sweep! sweep! Wash! wash! wash! the floor and at last we were waiting for it to dry.
This morning mummy had to clean the floor so that Ethan can scribble with crayon. He smiled happily when mummy took the crayon from the cabinet. Guessed he missed his crayon so much. *mummy had banned him from using the crayon because of his itchy hands*

Later maybe can try the water color and do some crafts with Ethan... think hard!!!!

Some noise was coming from banana tree, what is that??? Oooo! It was squirrel. Not only one but it's two. Mummy quickly held Ethan and went to the nearest place (but of course not so close as we also don't want to scare or disturb the cute little things). At first Ethan got hard time trying to find them but at last he successfully tracked the squirrel. These two cute little animals were so active. They jumped here and there. No wonder Ethan got hard time at first.

Well, you can say that our house got a lot of things to see. Having a vacant land behind the house does has its advantage. There are butterflies (Ethan tried to chase and catch them), dragonfly, bumble bee, praying mantis, ladybird, ants etc. It was a great exploratory experience for Ethan

After playing with his crayon for some time, his itchy hands started to appear once again. The floor, clothes and even his legs cannot manage to escape from his artistic urge to draw on them. Every time he draw on the floor, he will point it to mummy and put his finger up then said "NANA!"

How to made the morning session meaningful?

As usual, mummy will go out to the garden to get ride of the weeds so Ethan will play in the garden. Today when mummy was busy in the garden, Ethan was so boring that he just pranced around with his mouth non-stop talking baby talk. Emm! What a waste of a beautiful morning?

Normally what he will do when he is outside in the garden:
Backside of garden:
- arrange the clothes hangers
- asking mummy to give him some weeds so that he can carry around with his garden tools
- move the plastic bottles from kitchen and arrange them nicely on the floor
- even tries to help mother with the weeds

Car porch side garden (mostly is in the evening session):
- riding his tricycle
- kicking his ball
- tries hard to sweep the floor and purposely throw the ball underneath the car so that he has got reason to use the broom to sweep the ball out

Mummy has to figure out how to fill up Ethan's time with a meaningful matter? Few things were in mother's mind are:
- Let Ethan do painting? art?? craft??
- Teach him some flashcard?
- Read the story books with Ethan?
- play bubble
- any suggestion...??

Daddy didn't wave bye bye to me!!!!!

This morning daddy walked down the staircase because he was rushing to work. Unintentionally forgotten to bid Ethan good bye and also give French kiss. Immediately Ethan whine and complaint. Daddy has to turn backup and bid him good by in order to satisfy him. What a persistence fellow!

Some of the parents or guardian will let their kid watch TV show by themselves so that they can do something else. However, this do not work with our boy. When mother wants to leave Ethan and let him to watch the program, he will request mother to sit beside him. He wants people to accompany him (well this is good as some of article noted that kid should not be watching TV program more than 2 hours. Even if the adult has to let the kid watched it, they need to accompany the kid). Ethan is an inquisitive boy as he wants you to tell him what is inside the show. You have to tell him the name of the objects and explained them. Even when we are traveling on the road, he will point to the object outside our car and wants mother to tell him. You can imagine on the way back to house, there were like 4 to 5 traffic lights. Every time our boy sees it, he will request mother to speak aloud the object. If you didn't do that he will pull your shirt and made noise till you give up and tell him.

Well, this is a good habit right? Only us adults cannot stand our kid always asking and asking.

I'm a curious boy, feed me with more knowledge!!! Please...

Photographer and dirty boy

Ethan liked to play with our digital camera. Today, he took a lot of photos in the house and at the garden. Of course, most of these photos were either pointing to the floor and grass in the lawn. This is a video clip showing Ethan taking photos.

At dinner time as usual after Ethan finished his meal, we will treat him to his favorite yogurt. Nowadays, Ethan has developed a habit of going to the refrigerator and take his yogurt out and put it on the table. This is what his parent always do. Of course parents do, children follow rule definitely applies! Ethan has improved his skill of eating yogurt. Nowadays there is not much spilling out on the table anymore. But one bad habit still persists. He will leave some yogurt to be used as his hair gel. This time it was even worst because he put the yogurt on both of his hands and clapped them so that the yogurt will be flying here and there. Really dirty boy.

After he had finished his meal, while mummy and daddy had to clean up the dishes, he just cannot sit still in his high chair. This was what he will do next.

Notice the dangerous actions that he will do. I know that some people will say - why not tie Ethan up? Well, for one he will not let people tie him up. He will yell and hurt himself struggling to free himself from the safety belt.

From the moment he was born until now, he will never sit in a car seat. Even with the stroller he doesn't like to sit in it. He prefers people to hold him or he will walk by himself. We, being his parents roughly know that he wants. Seems that he likes to explore by himself the outside world. He wants to feel and touch new things, he is curious and he wants to be participating what his parents do. Mummy had read an article saying that parents should let toddlers walk by himself instead of putting him in the stroller when going out. This is mainly because it is one of the physical exercise for the toddler to improve his muscle and learns to be independent. So we think that as long as it is not dangerous, why not let Ethan go and explore the world by himself.
