K2 Fun Sports Day

Yipee! Today is the "K2 Fun Sports Day" for Ethan school. All the K2 students need to wear the sport dress but mummy didn't let Ethan wear the short sleeve T-shirt and short pant because of the hot sun. Also afraid that Ethan will fall down. All the long sleeve and pants were protection for him.

Daddy took a day off today to attend Ethan's sport day. We sent Ethan to the school first in the morning. Parents need to gather around the central garden where the function will be held. The sport day began at 8.50am with the student parade to the garden then the activities will begin promptly at 9.00am. Each classes will be divided into 2 groups and participate in 7 activities. Parent were invited to attend and participate in each activities with their child.

1 Tyre Crossing
The teacher demonstrated to the kids on how to play the game. After that all the kids eagerly want to try it. In the first time the kids were held by their hands by parent or teacher to walk across the tyre. After having had one round of fun, we let Ethan tried himself without our help. He tried to balance his body while walking on it. Some of the kids were afraid but some got the hang to it pretty fast.
2. Mini Obstacle course
No need to demonstrate this, the kids already knew how to play it. They need to hoop along the obstacle placed on the ground and climb across the plastic tunnel. The kids all happily played this activity but they liked to go across the tunnel. Most of them after the tunnel then will climb across again without jumping those obstacle in front. Kids even rolled over the plastic tunnel.
The announcer called for a rest time. The teacher brought the kids to the shady place for kids to take a rest and drink their water. After resting for a while, the game started again.

3. Water Game
This game requires kids to bring along the water with a cup from the full of bucket of water to the empty one. All kids like to play with water so nobody wanted to let go of the cup. Ethan was frustrated of waiting for his turn after his friends had played the water for many rounds. He shouted to his friend that " It's my turn". One of kids' parent asked his kid to give Ethan the cup. We thank him then Ethan started to play with it.
4. Hoop Jumping
At first the teacher placed all the students in one place to watch her demonstrate but after the demonstration the kids cannot wait. All of them ran to pick up all the toys on the hop la hoop. The teacher had to ask them to place back and begin the game one by one. Ethan gets to begin the game. He played it correctly but other kids really cannot wait and once again they all rushed to pick up the toys again. Teacher was losing control.
5. Ball and Hoop
The teacher demonstrated again before letting the kids to play. Ethan was the second to play this game. He was just high enough to slum jump the basket ball. Ethan managed to play this game twice before they moved to the other game.
6. Running Game
This game we really don't know how to play as the kids busy picking up the ring without listening to the teacher's instruction. In the end we still didn't know how this game is played. All the kids interested in picking up the ring and placing it in different hop la hop.
7. Parachute Game
Everybody hold the parachute and swing it up and down. Some of the kids will run into the middle of the parachute. The kids really have fun here. Ethan was crying here because he has been push down to the floor hard by one of his friend. After teacher talked to him, he stopped crying and continued to play the game.

8. Bubble Blowing
The was the last activities for the kids. Lots of parents and kids participated in this game.

The last activities before ending of the Sports Day was giving out testimonial. All the kids were placed around according to their classes. The teacher will call up their names to receive the testimonial for participating in the games.

After that all the kids needed to go back to their class with their parents. Ethan played with the chalk and written some number before he entered the class.

Ethan refused to go back with us after the game. We let him stay in the school with his friends, but most of them gone back home with their parents. We picked Ethan at 11.30am and only found that his class only left him with one of his classmates. We caught the shuttle bus to the Thumb Plaza again. Yup, no driver again as we switched his working day to Sunday.

Maths questions

Today mummy let Ethan do some math questions while mummy was busy cooking for dinner. He really likes to do math questionnaire and with this he can practice his writing skills. The questions mummy wrote for him was very simple and he managed to do most of it without mummy helping him.

Fatal cherries attraction

Ethan still did not let go the idea of picking the cherries. He requested his dad to bring him to pick the cherries again. It was just after the rain and the air was fresh, daddy brought him again for a walk. It was walking for daddy and cycling for Ethan. Daddy told mummy that Ethan picked a lot of cherries. Yes, it was really difficult for him to resist the cherries. Daddy had captured the photo of cherries.

Since the summer is approaching, the lotus/lily in the central garden pond starting to blossom. By summer the pond will be fully covered with the lily and lotus plants.

Daddy and Ethan had fun in the club house before heading home...

Chinese traditional clothing for Global Kids Day

Today we purposely went to the "Yu Garden". This was mainly because we wanted to buy the "Tang Clothing" for Ethan. The school has asked its student to wear their own country’s traditional clothing during the upcoming "Global Kids Day" on May 15. We are Chinese in Malaysia so definitely we would be wearing the "Tang Clothing" if not how we go to find the Malay clothing. Even when we were in Malaysia, we would not buy the Malay clothing for our kids especially boys.
Initially plan was mummy wanted to order it online because can get cheaper price. However after reconsidering, just thought why not try our luck. Whether or not can we get the same price as online so that we can save the shipping cost? We headed to "Yu Garden" as it has the most shops selling China traditional goods. We walked along the main street of Yu Garden, watching people bargaining and mummy didn't try to ask how much the clothing was. They asked for RMB80 then mummy just walked away even though the shop keeper asked mummy to give a price. We knew that on the main street, the price will not drop so much. So we walked to the side way shops where here was a bit distance from the main tourist streets and less tourists. We asked the price at one shop, the shop keeper wanted RMB75 but we said we wanted RMB40. Usual answer was she said cannot then she dropped the price to RMB68 but we still insisted RMB40. She asked why not add a bit higher. We walked away saying too expensive. After we walked away for about 20 feet then the shop keeper called us back as she agreed on the price we gave. We let Ethan tried the clothing.

Besides this we also wanted to buy another shoes for Ethan since his indoor shoes in the school is getting smaller. However the asking price was too high and shop keeper not willing to drop the price. So we ended up not buying.

Lunch on Labour Day holiday

Today is the labour day public holiday and we didn't have our driver. So we just took the shuttle bus to the Thumb Plaza to have a good and delicious lunch.

Ethan always likes to take a ride on the public transportation, like the bus and the subway. If there is an opportunity then we will let him have this kind of experience. After having had our delicious lunch, we went back home. There was a "Food Festival" at the opposite of the plaza but we didn't walk across the road because the weather was too hot.

Furthermore the road was crowded. It is really scary experience to cross the road here. The driver will horn at you or whatever...
