Go to Youth park

Today brought Ethan to Youth park as daddy wanted to visit great grand Pa's grave . The grave is near the park so daddy dropped mummy and Ethan in the park. Ethan was very excited seeing the playground there and a lot of people and kid playing there. He chose to play on the slide. But mummy was so worry about his safety as playground facilities seem like is dangerous compared to the park nearby Relau. Mummy only manage to take some picture because she was busy taking care of Ethan. The park has a swimming pool and since we were not prepared so didn't let Ethan play with the water. Maybe next time will do but need to go there early with daddy then can take some photo there.

Trouble Two is coming???

Recently Ethan cries a lot. Not only a lot but also very long he cries till his voice becomes "duck" voice.
Don't know whether is it he is entering the trouble two ??
Let's list down what are he crying for:
1) One day we go to Giant supermarket to buy his favorite yogurt but is late at night so we didn't let him eat the yogurt. He cried and didn't want to go upstair to enter the bedroom and even bathe. Since it was too late mummy had to force him to bathe, at the end whole body of mummy clothes was wet because Ethan didn't let go of holding mummy's clothes.

2) Playing the car. When daddy was back from work Ethan cried to go out of the house and asked daddy to bring him to walk around and played driving car. He played for quite some time and daddy and mummy wanted to eat dinner so have to bring him inside the house . He cried like hell, and refused to go inside the house like holding the door of the house and refused to eat dinner.

3) Recently when he wakes up he wants to just laying down his bed without wanting to wake up. He just like to roll over his bed and ask people to "tak tak" him but he don't want to sleep he just want to enjoy the service. When we want to bring him out from his crib normally he will cry.

4) Even ask him to go to the bathe as he watched the Japanese drama with daddy but when we want to bring him up to bedroom to bathe he cried and did not want to go upstairs. He held the staircase hand reel and we have to use the hard way to pull his hand off from the hand reel.

Ethan recognized "Peter & Jane" Book Title

Today Ethan can recognized the titles of his favorite 4 "Peter & Jane" book. He demonstrated this in front of daddy tonight. In fact he can even pick with the book front cover turned facing downward. The back cover of the book does not have any title, but he still could recognized the book. It is amazing. We were wondering how the hell he recognized the book without the title facing up. Daddy tried to ask him to maybe pick 3a, 3b, 2a, 2b but seems like he does not use this scheme to pick the books.

Ethan managed to create weird blocks using his creativity. He point is to get the block to stack the higher the better. He is still not able to figure out various shapes of blocks stacking yet.

Below are the 2 idiots wearing half of Ethan's shape sorters. When Ethan was smaller, his head managed to fit perfectly but now it does not fit anymore. Seems like his head circumference does grow.

New puzzle and math

Today mummy went to Tesco to buy some new puzzles for Ethan as Tesco had got sales offer. Beside this mummy also bought some clothes and a Paint apron for Ethan. Mummy has an idea to let Ethan try water painting. One of the amazing thing is that Ethan knows how to play the new puzzle even at his 1st attempt. Mummy had told daddy that might be he memorized the shape of the puzzle. This is because the new puzzle has same shape as the previous one he played but with new picture.

Today when Ethan ate his dinner, mummy tried to teach him maths using his cereal. Ethan has got a bad habit when he eat porridge, he always want to put the cereal in the spoon together with porridge before mummy feeds him. So mummy tried to teach him. For example, mummy gives him 5 cereals then when he eat one then left 4. After left only 1 cereal mummy will add other 4 cereal and let him know that it became 5. Don't know whether Ethan can understand or not but he has fun time seeing mummy counting the number. Hope that this method would work. At night mummy got another idea of how to teach him the math beside using this cereal but need to spend some money making the teaching material.

Recently Ethan always play the puzzle, mummy wonders whether is it still got other toy let him to play??? Is it good time to start the Playdoh for Ethan? Mummy attempted to let him play when daddy bought the PlayDoh from US at the beginning of the year. However, Ethan took the playdoh and eat it . At time mummy also does not know how to play the toy.

Lacing beads and puzzle

Ethan became better and better in playing the lacing beans. His 5 attempts to lace the bean only one time failed. Mummy had taken some video of Ethan lacing the beans.

Finally Ethan managed to complete the puzzle brought back from Kedah (puzzle mummy played when mummy was small) Even though Ethan can finish the puzzle but he gets frustrated when his attempt to match the puzzle. He would half cry half yell during the process of completing the puzzle. Mummy found out that if you left him in the room to solve the puzzle himself, he can patiently complete it by himself. However when somebody enters the room and watches him do the puzzle, he will cry if cannot find the matching puzzle. He would also loss of control his temper.

Seeing doctor

The reddish spot worst when Ethan wake up from the nap. His neck and the knee all got the reddish like the bite of mosquito. Mummy asked daddy to bring Ethan to see the doctor. We have to wait at least 30min in order to see the doctor. Before seeing doctor Ethan have chances to play the kid house and the slide while waiting for the doctor. So funny is don't know why Ethan like to arrange things. He push the chair and arrange it nicely (some of the chair he is taken from the kid house) . Notice that when Ethan entering the house he will close the door and he also will close the door after he came out from the house. Seeing him so discipline as in the house mummy got teach that when even the things he take up mummy want to him to put back all the toys, blocks etc before he go out from the playroom.

Back Home and constipation

Today Daddy went to Kedah to fetch mummy and Ethan back to Penang. Today Ethan's face and body got some reddish spot. The worst one is behind his neck. He got big three bumps. We don't know whether is it because of the mosquito bite or what????

The few days back to grandpa house. Ethan demonstrated a lot of his knowing words to 公公， 婆婆，姨姨 and 姑婆. He showed them all how he picked the English words. Eventhough Ethan knows how to pick to Chinese words but not as much as English because he just learned it about 2 and half months compared to English which he learned when he was 4 months old that time.

Mummy tried to take out the puzzle played by mummy when mummy was small and let Ethan play with it. Ethan doesn't know how to play and he cried when he failed to complete th new puzzle by himself. Mummy brought one set back to Penang. Good sign is that even he failed to do but he still tried hard to put in the puzzle again and again but with the mummy's help. After trying two times, it seems like he managed to finally put some of puzzle pieces by himself.

Ethan really loves the books that mummy hand made for him. Of course this could be mainly because he is the hero in the books himself. When he saw the picture of the books he recognises and remembers what he had done. He will not feel bored when he look at his books. He flips and flips.

These few days Ethan got constipation again eventhough mummy gave him orange to eat. His constipation situation is toned down quite a bit when mummy let him eat kiwi everyday. However, it seems like after eating some much kiwi the function of kiwi is reduced and recently mummy also does not lett Ethan eat the kiwi. Mummy didn't buy for him. If the case get worst then we might have to buy the kiwi even if it is expensive.

Ethan finally got the guts to cross the drain

Today brought Ethan back to grandpa's house in Kedah. Seeing that his hair was quite long, we took him to the barber shop to have a cut. Daddy also took the opportunity to cut his hair at the same time. In the afternoon, mummy also cut her hair. So in one day the whole family gone to cut their hair. It's a hair cutting day!!!

Today, mummy let Ethan wear the red clothes. This is the first time mummy let Ethan wear the red t-shirt. Normally mummy will buy the cloth in white color (this is because mummy is afraid that after Ethan wear the deep colour clothes Ethan will be look like an Indian boy "dark")but recently the trend has changed a bit . Mummy did buy yellow and red shirt for Ethan. Not bad seeing Ethan wearing it.

Finally Ethan dare to cross the drain by himself without anybody holding his hand. Actually a few months ago, mummy already seen him crossed one time. Mummy informed daddy. After that don't know whether is it because of mummy excitement of seeing him cross the drain by himself - it seems like he feels like the drain is dangerous for him. After that he dare not to cross the drain. This time when he crossed the drain evebody clapped their hands. He felt very proud and repeatedly crossed the drain a few times.

Ethan daily schedule

Seems like Ethan has his own daily schedule of playing with his toys. When he entered the bedroom, he will play with the puzzle, lacing bead, 12 shape sorter and etc. For the new shape sorter, Ethan picks up very fast this round. Mummy had tried to let him play once when he was 14 months and 16 months but he did not manage to do it. Recently mummy just tried and he loves to play with this toy. Ethan turned the ball here and there to find the correct hole to put in the shapes.

When he is in the playroom, he likes to play with the puzzles, blocks, flashcards and his tricycle. Ethan seems to like mummy flashing him the card when mummy wants to feed him his lunch. Today, when mummy wanted to feed him, he asked mummy to take out all the Chinese flashcard. When he saw the words " 吃饭" he laughed and showed mummy the word before mummy fed him. Seems like mummy had successfully made him recognized and love the Chinese words.

Recently mummy lacked teaching him the English words and read story books for him. Mummy has to maintain his learning in the English else afraid that he will forgot them.

Evening time mummy gave him to eat the yogurt again. After finished eating the yogurt his face has white "misai" so funny. We called him "花脸猫"

Finally gone to the park

Today the weather was not bad. Therefore we brought Ethan to the park again as mummy also need to take some photo of the park in order to finish the story for Ethan. Ethan very excited when we arrived at the park. He wanted to walk by himself. He looked at the fountain and found the steps to walk up but he did not dare because the steps don't have any hand reel. Mummy and daddy didn't help him because we need to see how he solves his problem. Is it that he dare to walk up by himself or ask for help from parent? But Ethan was smart he used the side way which is slope upward so that he could go up and reach the upper side of the fountain without parents' help. He knew how to use his brain to solve the problem.

Ethan was so excited when he reached the playground. Daddy had to put him in the swing but he still didn't like it. He liked to play the slide though. Mummy asked daddy not to help Ethan to climb up to the top but only just walk beside him in case he was in danger. Mummy wanted Ethan to be independent. Ethan had fun playing with the slide. When he saw that there was a small sister playing the rocking horse - he walked nearby. Daddy thought that he liked to play the rocking horse but actually he liked to ride the tricycle of the small sister instead.

When Ethan saw the other bigger brothers playing the bubble, he quickly gone near to them without any second though. He also wanted to play with bubble. Since we did not bring any bubble, we let Ethan played with bubble when we reached home later that day.

After playing for a while we brought Ethan back as daddy have other things to do. Daddy wanted to hold him but he refused to do so as he wanted to walk by himself. On the way back to car park was so sloppy that he nearly fell down. Daddy grabbed his hand in time to prevent this but there was some scratches on his knee. Ethan refused to go back and he cried for a while. Mummy had plan to bring him to the park every week so as to get him to love the playground. Especially the swing .....

After having a nap in afternoon, daddy decided to bring Ethan to Queensbay Mall bookstore in order to find the Phonic books for Ethan. However, when we were nearing the mall we saw so many cars waiting to enter the carpark. Daddy decided not to go there and went to other hypermarket. We had KFC in the hypermarket. Managed to eat chicken before our Muslim friend buka puasa. :-)

Ethan @ Kentucky Fried Chicken

Few days ago we found out that Ethan already know how to do the lacing bead. He was very happy when he successfully put the lace through the bead. Ethan learned this quite fast.

Rainy day again

Today we originally planned to bring Ethan to the park but after mummy given him a bath, it was going to rain. So mummy decided to go to Tesco instead to find out whether Tesco is selling any new puzzles for Ethan to play. Unfortunately, mummy could not manage to find any. This is main because mummy wanted to buy the 20 pieces puzzle but Tesco only sells 30 or 40 pieces puzzle.

Tonight Ethan had got a bump on his head because after he bathed he quickly went to the bed and roll over in the bed naked. He thought that mummy was playing and wanted to catch him. Later he played so excited that he quickly turned his head. He hit the bed and immediately cried and also the head immediately got "tall building".

Recently mummy doesn't know why Ethan doesn't like to eat dinner. Normally he will finish all the lunch but during the dinner time he would refuse to take. He would rather be hungry and waited for his milk before sleeping. Mummy's thinking is that it might be his nap time problem? As recently he sleeps at 11 something morning until 2 something in the afternoon which for normal people the lunch time is over. So mummy had to feed him at 2 or 3 something then 4 or 5 something he wants to drink milk again and mummy had to give him dinner at 6 or 7 something but he refuse to take. Is it because he is still full ?

More difficult jigsaw puzzle and learning words

After coming back from Hotel stay and saw that Ethan can complete the jigsaw puzzle quite fast, mummy decided to let Ethan try the new puzzle which doesn't have any picture underneath. Ethan took two days to master it although this new puzzle does not have an picture underneath to guide him.

Observed that Ethan likes to take the small flashcards which mummy put into the container and asks mummy to teach him the words. This is a good sign as he has the initiative and eagerness to learn by himself instead of adult wanting him to learn. Like this he should be able to learn very fast. Today he managed to pick up the 16 Chinese words correctly when mummy asked him to find the words.

First mummy tried to adopt the Glenn Doman method but it seems like Ethan doesn't really like this method. Doman recommended the steps as per below:

1) the card and the word need to be big so that it is easy for the kid to learn. Mummy tried to flash the big cards but Ethan doesn't like it, so mummy had made the small cards.

2) 5 set of 5 words and 5 times per day. One time only can flash maximum 5 words. But mummy only flash the card one or two time per day and flash all the card. Sometime flash more than 100 cards.

No matter what method is used as long as Ethan can learn and have fun that is enough. I guess every child is different and require different kind of teaching method in order to learn and achieve the same end results.

Mummy is still headache is to how to do the maths as Ethan does not seem to like the method that mummy follow. The Doman method of teaching maths does not work on Ethan. Still thinking hard trying to find a way.

Some result of learning Chinese language

Today, mummy saw some results after teaching Ethan the Chinese words for quite some time. Same like what happened to English words, first he knows how to hold the correct position of the words. For some of the words he will point to the objects and do some actions when he saw the words. Mummy is really not so aggressively teaching Ethan. Just like to let him have fun and play with the words.

Home again

Today we checked out of the hotel nearly at 10.00am. We made this decision for early check out because it was non-stop raining from midnight till morning. We felt like there was no chances for Ethan to go the swimming pool again so better checked out early as Ethan was yelling want to go out from hotel room. It was boring as mummy didn't bring many of his toys to the hotel as we only planned to stay one night. Now that we have got some experience, next time going out to travel we know what to do.

Maybe it was because this morning Ethan woke up so early, so when we are in the car on the way back home, Ethan already slept. Mummy saw him slept at standing position again.


This evening mummy let him play with the mega blocks that we bought for him before we went to the hotel stay. He played with daddy. He have fun with them. Don't know why Ethan like to take out all the blocks and put them back again. He seems to like this take out and put back action. It kept him busy for some time so that mummy have time to watch TV.
